WELCOME TO THE INTERACTION CHEAT SHEET !

some muses might seem a little weird or too closed off setting-wise for interaction, so here's a very simple list on how i'll be adjusting them so that they can be thrown into just about any zelda scenario!   and as with everything, plotting will ALWAYS be highly encouraged.

BONGO BONGO
- he was originally a sheikah, a very powerful one at that. he practiced and mastered magic, and he makes use of that power even after his death. this includes shifting his own size at will.
- we'll need to plot/specify for this one: he can be found as we see him in the game (massive and 'hanging' upside down), or in a more normal form (sheikah, wearing a hat similar to monk maz koshia's, and with his 'face' covered... surprise surprise it's cus he has no face at all. head? yes. face? none. it's a void. he's 7'3'' in this form but as mentioned before, he can change that)- he mostly spawns at night. i really gotta repeat myself here, this guy's magic power allows him to do just about whatever he wants... if he wants to wander around during the day, he will- in either form he is still a ghost, but via his magic he can still interact with everything and anything. and he can also be damaged and killed (he will return anyway)- what about the bongo? size-wise, he can also alter that at will, and spawn it whenever he desires, so he's not physically carrying it with him. if he starts playing it and chants along, he can (and will) control your muse like a puppet on strings, or brainwash them. damage the bongo (or his hands) to break free from that- unless we plot it out, your muse has no way of knowing BB's past/sheikah name. BUT it may be used during threads (just not the dialogue), should it be easier to refer to him that way- sometimes i call him BB to keep it short on tags and whatnot. so:
BB = Bongo Bongo
Sheikah name : Yuiga

DEAD HAND
- don't worry, your muse can (and should) kill him. he'll just respawn and will resent and hunt your muse fully on purpose after that, no matter who they are
- he only appears at night. he favors being near graveyards and temples; the yiga hideout, the depths, and caves in botw/totk- if night time, he may be intentionally summoned by making use (and/or misuse) of the eye of truth. this can also be an accidental way to spawn him if your muse doesn't know what that item is at all- in totk he makes use of the gloom, and can move just as fast as gloom hands do... and he also can take control of those spooky limbs though only for a short time- he's originally a sheikah, so much like bongo bongo he makes use of magic for many things. to appear in different places, teleport, spawn multiple limbs (i haven't given him a limit on how many he can have at a time... maybe 20)- unless we plot it out, your muse has no way of knowing DH's past/sheikah name. BUT it may be used during threads (just not the dialogue), should it be easier to refer to him that way- sometimes i call him DH to keep it short on tags and whatnot. so:
DH = Dead Hand
Sheikah name : Zenji

MALANYA
- the obvious is she can be found in her great fairy fountain
- she's capable of being outside of that, though! as a 'ghostly figure' around horse herds. she can also be around specific horses (the special ones). another place she can hang out in is lon lon ranch- so basically, when not in her fountain she's a giant ghost who can travel around and prefers to be near animals, mainly horses- she gets to choose who can see her. link, zelda, and any sheikah can see her by default (she trusts them and feels safe around them). same with muses who can shapeshift (they tend to be more kind towards nature and respect the balance of it)

MAJORA
- she rarely appears as her true self (majora's wrath). she can shapeshift though, into any creature and at any moment. be it hylian, zora, goron, deku, rito... she can adopt any gender, too
- that alone gives massive flexibility on interacting with her! just beware because her intentions will never be nice- that being said, her more common appearance will be hylian. a very close lookalike to the happy mask salesman, and has all her body except her face covered in markings (tattoos). she looks extremely genderfluid, your muse may use whatever pronoun and she'll go with it- she'll lie about who she is and what she does and why she is wherever she may be. essentially, it's a massive fucking gamble. messing with people this way is part of her fun- unless your muse is a deity of some kind or she discloses her identity, there's no way to tell it's really majora in disguise

Zant   |   Twili   |   36   |   7’4’’   |   He/Him   |   Gray/Ace

KING OF SHADOWS

Master of deception; he can show a calm and serious demeanor as well as intimidating and ruthless. The ends justify the means, practically blind to how cruel he can really be.Can exist in the world of Light with no consequences or need to hide in a shadow, travel between worlds without the use of a mirror or portal, summoning of objects at will, powerful telekinesis, mild necromancy power.

UNFIT FOR THE THRONE

His closeness to the royal household created an insatiable desire for ruling the realm, learning everything that was to learn about it while remaining useful himself to avoid being pushed away. Efforts were in vain as his own kin feared his ambitions; Zant just knew better. They weren’t seeing the whole picture, used to being in a cage, seen as prisoners when there was more they could own and conquer. Despite knowing of failed mistakes from their ancestors, he cared little and thought himself fit for leadership that would lead his realm to such might.

POWER HUNGRY FOOL.

Rumors spread quickly and he was seen as an outcast despite there being nowhere to run. It’s said fortune comes to those who deserve it. Far from believing that he was in the wrong, Zant encounters a mysterious and powerful being like no other. It could only be a God... one that had sought him purposefully and gave him just what he needed to gain power over all. The princess was deprived of her own might, the twili cursed to a form that reflected their small minds. And so he's set on the mission to possess the Light realm as his own, much like it should have been theirs for so long ago.

VERSES

ROYAL SERVANT.
Set before the events of Twilight Princess, when he still served the royal household. His ambition and search for power were already twisting his own mind, and for long he was able to hide it. Giving hints, suggestions, and advice was how he wanted to help, and sure enough was seen an important element of the household. But he got a little too arrogant, and bit by bit he started creating a path to his own demise.
USURPER KING.
Takes place during the main events of Twilight Princess. With the Mirror destroyed and the fused shadows scattered throughout the land he remains confident in his victory. Anyone trying to alter his plans or even pose as a minor inconvenience shall be shown no mercy or patience.
POWER-HUNGRY.
In a timeline where he was not killed or spared, Zant made his way out after the battle with Link and stayed low long enough to heal. Power still with him, he goes back to his search for it even if he was no longer welcome in his own realm - perhaps he never was. It’s but a sign that he needs to look for new lands, his given power lending that chance to transport himself to different worlds.
ECCENTRIC SYCOPHANT.
Hyrule Warriors. Some of Ganondorf’s power stayed with him, just enough for him to be a useful addition to his God’s, now Master, army. Despite how warped and perverted his mind now was, Zant remains cunning and smart with strategy. Should he be faced in battle one should expect long distance kind of attacks, as well as holograms and illusions that serve as distractions before he finds an opening to ungracefully attack with his swords.

WARNING. majora involves some considerable dark topics and horror themes, including but not exclusive to: torture, body horror, gore, psychological abuse and fear, mind control and manipulation, apocalyptic themes, curses and occult powers, death, etc.

Majora   |   God   |   1000+   |   9’   |   Any   |   Pan

MISCHIEVOUS DEITY

Divine and unattached, of chaotic and unpredictable nature. Spontaneous, dangerous, powerful, and deadly. A trickster and manipulative liar; of abusive and mocking energy, one with a voracious craving for bloodlust.Mutation and transformation of self and others. Mind control, enticing victims to cave into any and all dark desires and impulses, her presence being enough to have that effect. Able to summon weapons of any kind and out of anything. Can gain full control of others as if they were puppets. Creation and destruction of moons and small planets. Time manipulation.

MASK

It is said that she was placed in Termina as a curse. The Goddesses of Hyrule’s revenge towards those that would mock them. As the Stone Tower was created in a foolish attempt to reach the high skies for the Triforce and the Sacred Realm, Nayru, Farore, and Din placed a curse upon that land. One they named Majora, and she would lack any sense of mercy or understanding.

INCARNATION

Her power was meant to be limited, though as a tribe started making use of her being for hexing rituals, her nature became far more wicked and twisted. She learned how to manipulate and control beings as if they were disposable puppets, using them exactly that way. Scaring them, torturing them, mocking them. Everyone she ever toyed with was feeble, and if only for the sake of her entertainment did she allow to be sealed away in a miserable mask. But that way, her presence would entice and manipulate in a much more intimate way.

WRATH

The last remaining member of that now forgotten tribe, known as a wandering mask salesman, was the one who kept the object safe and guarded. Until a lonely and mischievous Skull Kid appeared. Her aura was powerful enough to tempt the pathetic creature, and so she decided to bring doom to Termina like never before. One that would repeat itself, over and over. And over. The Goddesses gave up on that land. Majora had gotten out of their hands. The moon turning into a beacon of impending doom. She remains very aware and conscious of when the cycle starts and ends. And she couldn’t be more delighted every time people had a glimpse of false hope during the dawn of the first day, knowing their deaths were inevitable…

VERSES

HEXED GOD.
She may appear everywhere and anywhere, in any shape she may desire. It could be an innocent looking Hylian, or a strong and intimidating Goron. For the majority of time, her true form remains a secret, at least until the last moment. If she reveals her true self, it’s with every ounce of intention to have her witness die right after. There’s no point trying to soften her heart, as she lacks any sense of positive emotion.

regarding how i will be writing this muse: headcanons and content are greatly inspired by previously existing fancanons, as well as m. bulteau's majora's aria. the rest draws inspiration from different media, unrelated to zelda, such as hellraiser.

Malanya   |   Fairy   |   1000+   |   24’   |   Any   |   Ace

GOD OF HORSES

Quirky and friendly personality. Trickster and jokester, keeping herself composed and elegant while eternally surrounded by death. Caring and protective of animals, mainly equines. Quite gluttonous for a Great Fairy. Surprisingly lonely.Keeps the souls of deceased animals at peace. Communicates with dead creatures, has a keen understanding of life and death and respects the cycle of it… to a point. Can heal and enhance a horse’s skill. Restoration to life of equines.

MYSTIQUE SPIRIT

Her origin is mysterious, but not a questioned one as her existence benefits the lost souls of animals. A particular liking and attachment to horses, as her being is but the conjoined result of hundreds of thousands of souls that were once lost, eager to provide that sense of calmness and peace for any other equine that should face a different death other than by the inevitable result of time.

GENTLE GIANT

Malanya is able to spawn around herds of horses, although only for a limited amount of time. Eventually, she will need to return to the safety of her Fountain and rest. Adventure was never her interest, and cares more about a peaceful life and staying in her lane.

PROTECTOR OF LIFE

As the Calamity happened, along with just about any misfortune that would strike Hyrule, she grew more and more defensive of her equine friends. While she may playfully tease of violent acts should she be displeased, if she’s an actual witness to any cruelty towards an innocent creature she will act accordingly. Her goal is not to take the attacker’s life, but to protect the one that is meant to be spared by nature alone.

VERSES

WANDERING GREAT FAIRY.
Where Malanya is able to be found where the herds of horses are - should she allow herself to be seen. While outside her Fountain, she is able to control who she is visible to - as if she were a poe. She possesses a keen sense of judgment, and will selectively show herself to those with a kind heart despite appearances.
She's not immune to magic, and should there be someone with enough powers to witness her, Malanya will have no means to hide away.Once befriended, or should one want to befriend the Fairy quickly after showing a kind heart, Malanya will reveal more of her abilities and interests. From her fascination about meals and oddly natural born cooking skills, to magic that allows her to bring back a previously deceased steed, along with enhancing its skills - for a price, of course.

malanya is a creature beyond general understanding, and doesn't cater to expectations, existing norms, or social constructs within any society.this is not a genderswap or transgender take of the character, and any pronoun may be used.
for personal preference, she/her will be the default.
feel free to use any pronoun yourself.

Ganondorf   |   Gerudo   |   45   |   10’   |   He/Him   |   Bi

KING OF THIEVES

Lustful for power; Demise’s curse running through his veins, he remains cruel, ruthless, and ambitious. A master of manipulation and deceit. Adept tactician and leader, one that resents defiance, yet doesn’t reward loyalty. Prone to becoming enraged with ease, though appearing calm and civil most times.Immensely powerful sorcerer and skilled swordsman. Very physically strong. As time passes, he becomes more powerful. Omniscient. Creation, control, and manipulation of Gloom power. Weather manipulation, size manipulation, terrain alteration. Can create armies of monsters and beasts. Creation of realistic phantoms. As the Demon King when bearing the Triforce of Power, he’s near immortal and only vulnerable against sacred weapons. Plus further enhancement of his magic and strength. Capable of killing divine beings in this state.

MALICE

Born by and with a curse. Where male Gerudos were born on the rare, and once grown up he had but one goal. He doesn’t need the motive. It’s not for the better of his people, to make things fair in the land, or as revenge. The curse of Demise is enough to fuel such goals, and there was no need to fight against those impulses either.

HATRED

As time passed, he realized his power simply kept growing. Training was part of it, but there was something else within his own nature that made it far too easy to enhance that dark magic, as if it concentrated further despite how much he’d make use of it. Learning to spawn armies, taking over Guardians despite being dormant himself… it was almost, as if his own power was sentient.

DEMISE

Whether dormant, in full control, or under a much higher power, Ganondorf is not one to underestimate. His motives are ulterior and selfish. Loyalty means nothing to him, and he will do whatever is necessary, manipulation and heartbreak included, to get what he wants and when he wants it.

VERSES

MAGNIFICENT ONE.
Whether he’s set in the time where Rauru and Sonia ruled Hyrule, during the Calamity, or after it, Ganondorf is able to wander. His form depends on the time, as he may be but a realistic phantom while his physical body remains hidden and locked away under the Castle. Still sentient and able to interact, it won’t stop him from his search for freedom and power.
MASTER OF THE SACRED STONE.
Once claiming one of the Sacred Stones and using its power, he managed to achieve his goal. He’s in full control of Hyrule, the land plagued with monsters and creatures fully under his command. Divine Beasts possessed, Sheikah technology is no match against his malice and Gloom. His power only keeps growing the more it festers in him.

Zenji Dead Hand   |   Sheikah   |   100+   |   7’2’’   |   He/Him   |   -

MUTILATED TORTURER

Resentful yet loyal. Permanently marked by the consequences of his own actions, same ones that were but instructions. The result of remaining loyal throughout questionable decisions. Eternally hungry.Resurrection, spawn of limbs independent from his own body, keen sense of smell, touch, and hearing. Teletransportation. Can be summoned at the use of either the lens of truth or the hover boots.

HISTORY OF HATRED

Once a proud Sheikah, a beloved chief and warrior. Protector of his people and undyingly loyal to the Royal Family. His name, now long forgotten, used to bring pride and a sense of safety and peace of mind. His story is meant to be kept buried and a secret after the twisted truth was revealed.Years later he was appointed as the main torturer of the Shadow Temple. Although some decisions were questionable, even for him, there was never any objection and he’d carry on with his appointed duties. The smell of iron from spilled blood, the screaming of those considered enemies of the Royal Family, their broken bones… the sight of mutilated bodies as he attempted to milk every bit of information from his victim. It all became far too normal. Odd was the day that he didn’t get to experience any of it. Perhaps, it even made him feel incomplete at some point. He learned to enjoy it.

AND BLOOD

Everything comes with a price… and as that part of history became more and more shameful, he started paying for it with body and mind. This was noticed by Yuiga, a member of the Sheikah tribe who had already been twisted into changing his loyalty towards Ganondorf instead. Being approached, the torturer was very easily persuaded to do the same and they joined forces. He revealed to Yuiga about the existence of items made by him for the Royal Family: a lens and a pair of boots. The lens could be more useful, so it became a target and was stolen by Yuiga to carry on with his own plans.Together, they also planned and designed a secret chamber at the bottom of the Well. One that was purely and exclusively used for torture, as well as carry on with the task of recruiting more Sheikah for the ‘new cause’.While he knew how to control magic, he wasn’t nearly as powerful as Yuiga. Bit by bit, he’d become deformed. A kind of pain he could not describe, but even then, he refused to stop his work. Until the day his body was far too monstrous and unrecognizable.

INCESSANT RESENTMENT

Seen as the perfect opening, the captured victims set themselves free. A thought out plan they had for weeks, and ever since the torturer started changing. One of them immediately cut off the once Sheikah’s hands, if only to ensure they couldn’t be held back in any way.It was nothing but payback. He endured long and arduous torture, the same he would do onto others. Once cut through and left bleeding, with a broken jaw, no eyes, no legs, no hands… yet somehow still breathing, he was finished off by hanging his bleeding and rotting body in the main room. After an immediate escape, they left enough clues for the Sheikah to find the torture chamber at the bottom of the Well. There were enough rumors about that place being built in secret and behind their backs; the punished ones would be those responsible for its existence. He died, and yet, his consciousness and perhaps his putrid soul remained there. As the curse continued to fall on him, Yuiga, the temple, and the Well, he became a part of that place along with his Lens of Truth. A natural type of connection to it; he will be present should they be found - and used.He considers his work unfinished, and so he is left permanently starved for more blood.

VERSES

ACRIMONIOUS TORTURER.
He's not allowed to have that eternal rest. Should he be slain, he will only return and in that same misshapen and grotesque form. Dead Hand may be summoned, should either of his previous treasures be used. He may also be found wandering in the Shadow Temple, as well as the Bottom of the Well. Although, should he be found anywhere outside of those places, it will be where it reeks of death and desperation, and exclusively at night time.

WARNING. bongo bongo involves some considerable dark topics and horror themes, including but not exclusive to: death, body horror, mutilation, gore, blood, decapitation, torture, cult indoctrination, and religious themes.

read and interact at your discretion

Yuiga Bongo Bongo   |   Sheikah   |   100+   |   24’   |   He/Him   |   -

DECAPITATED RINGLEADER

The one that started it all. Embodiment of hatred and resentment. His mutilation is but a consequence of corrupt and forceful indoctrination. First Sheikah to question the true morality of the Royal Family.Shadow shifting, body manipulation, size transformation, teleportation. Singing and chanting that can cause full body possession and brainwashing. Body multiplication, curse invoking, resurrection and resuscitation of self and others.

EVIL SPIRIT

A long time ago, he was part of the group considered to be the shadow of the Hylians. A powerful Sheikah who valued his people and would eagerly learn more of the blessing the Goddess herself blessed them with. At first it seemed honorable, swearing allegiance to the King and the Royal family. Keeping them safe and protected.Cleaning the blood off their hands. But he could only take so much, as the task felt more and more unbearable. Not from disgust towards the evil tasks at hand, but towards the King himself. The Sheikah were doomed to remain as just that, a shadow. A whisper among people. A secret. If their task was so noble, why were they being tainted with the worst part of history? It started to feel like nothing but a punishment, and in a moment of weakness mixed with a distorted sense of self he was persuaded by none other than the King of Thieves to change his allegiance, although remain close to the Royal family as well as his tribe. And so it started, the silent quest to gather allies within his own group. It started with subtle comments, then speeches, then sealing their loyalty with a ritual where he misused his magic. A ritual that involved music and chanting, and allowed him to take over the minds of those involved.

CURSED TO THE SHADOWS

Secretly, slowly, yet surely, the Sheikah began to split within themselves. And it was time to take things further. He decided to steal the relic created as a gift for the Royal family: the Eye of Truth. By promising easier access to that kind of magic, he brought over more people to his twisted cause. At least, until he was caught and brought to justice. His secrets revealed, his plans foiled. But his loyalty to Ganondorf kept him from revealing the Gerudo as the head of such plan. He assumed full responsibility for what was done, and was punished as necessary. For being a thief, they cut off his hands. For the brainwashing, they cut off his head. The Sheikah are wary now, and know of what one could achieve even after death. They rid of his body deep in the Well where the torturing chamber also meant to be kept a secret lied. With a powerful spell and the use of cleansing water, that cursed area and its shunned spirits was sealed for good.Until hatred and resentment made them powerful enough to escape.Bongo Bongo now a shadow; the same thing that prompted him to lean towards evil... irony didn't keep him from being violent and petty with anyone he encounters now.

VERSES

SHADOWED RINGLEADER.
Powerful magic allows him to wander. Traveling within shadows, he gets to choose if he shows himself as a Sheikah or a monster. He's witnessed many generations go by, and still hunts and haunts his own tribe if only to see what is left of it, along with the Royal Family and those blindly loyal to them. From time to time he finds it far too gratifying playing with people's minds and spirit, seeking to twist them and force them into changing their loyalty to a much more promising cause.

WARNING. sooga's own history as well as involvement with the yiga clan will contain cult themes, coming from a mix of my own lore for bongo bongo, along with taking into consideration subtext clues within the games.

read and interact at your discretion

Sooga   |   Sheikah   |   ???   |   7’3’’   |   He/Him   |   Bi, male leaning

RIGHT-HAND MAN

Loyal, observant, careful. Tactical and highly strategic. Despite showing himself aloof, those he trusts know of the warmth and kindness in his heart. Fiercely protective of his Master. Determined. Stubborn yet patient.Abnormal strength, dual wielding sword fighting, quick reflexes. Magic manipulation to teletransport, aid in his stealth, spawn weaponry, disguise, brief power to hold back malice and protection. Great leadership and influence skills.

OF THE INVERTED EYE

Saved by none other than Master Kohga, he remained faithful to him and the Yiga. Sooga was also far too quick to learn and adopt Sheikah magic, the same blessing gifted to the tribe by Hylia herself. There's a reason for being such an uncanny natural with that kind of power... though not even he is fully aware of that part of history, or the irony of being saved and taken in by the clan named closely after the Sheikah he's descended from.He learned to master his mind, followed closely by his physique. As he grew up within the clan he also earned higher titles and responsibilities. Ever grateful for the kindness Kohga showed him on their first encounter, Sooga never had any issues with whatever instruction and task was handed to him.And so, he became nearly entirely responsible for the uncomfortable things that had to be done to keep the Clan in line, all under supervision from his Master.

DESTINED BY BLOODLINE

The Clan promised a sense of unity and belonging. Family. The perfect space to be accepted as well as shown a type of magic and power that was otherwise limited by the Royal Family and the Goddess herself, described as an act of selfishness by the so-called powerful. It was the perfect place to show that they were done and tired by unfairness and injustice, taking that into their own hands. If they were shunned by their people outside the Clan then they were welcome to thrive and survive with the Yiga. Thievery and assassination as means to get through. Most grew quite comfortable with it.To those that happened to question it, disagree, threaten to turn against the Clan or its leader, or even left... the consequences were severe. Punishment was necessary to keep everyone under control.Indoctrination, while subtle, became a standard. Reminding the Clan about this being the family they have now chosen. About the freedom within it compared to the outside world, and how choosing betrayal would only weigh heavy on them - permanently.Rituals to honor and celebrate their beloved Master started taking place. It continued selling them with a sense of unity and belonging - which by itself, it wasn't a lie. They were tightly knit together and with good, twisted reason. To further solidify their ideology and the sense of group identity, a motto was created and established as a standard.Glory to Master Kohga!

VERSES

GENERAL BLADEMASTER.
He wanders through the land of Hyrule when instructed, or when he knows that Master Kohga is safe and well protected without him. Determined to fulfill the goal the Yiga Clan aims for, he actively looks for those who may be persuaded into joining the cause. He knows how to pick potential members, careful with his research and approach, never being forceful. From time to time, however, he swears he can listen to a voice in his mind... someone who is urging him to master his magic further to guarantee the inevitable success of the Demon King as this voice once tried in a different era...
